White Rabbit's House

Am I the only one in this world who did not realize that Gwen Stefani's What you waiting for? video was inspirated by Alice in Wonderland? AM I THE ONLY ONE? NO, DON'T TRY TO BE KIND, TELL ME THE TRUTH! AM I?! The White Rabbit, the Twins, the Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar, the Queen of Hearts and EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE... Okay, I have an excuse, just only a few days ago I've seen the 1951 Alice in Wonderland at the first time in my life (!). Maybe I won't hold it against my parents, such things can happen, even in the best houses. Our weekly-happy-moments were the Sunday 5 p.m. Disney-hours, I'll never forget. Those were the good old days, we appreciated the cartoons. Ah. Back to the subject. My heart's broking to say it but this sort of Alice-transcription by Gwen Stefani gives me a bigger satisfaction then the version of  (otherwise beloved) Tim Burton. I know, I know kids, I'm crying, too. But I have to admit, the collaboration of Alice and Gwen is a totally correct work, as it were genious. And up to this day it's one of my most favourite videos of the popindustry. Plus the pretty cool outfits of Miss Stefani, the Galliano dress and the Harajuku girls. Big first. If you can't really remember, what I'm talkin about, WATCH IT.
Azok voltak a szép idők, mi megbecsültük a meséket. Na mindegy. Vissza a témához. Tudom, tudom gyerekek, sírok én is.

Orientalist and Lefebvre-inspirated

Photobucket
You know I'm not that girly girl. But when I saw the refined and royal spring collection of Marchesa, it has taken my breath away. The orientalist-inspired collection is the One Thousand and One Nights and at the same time the  clothes-impersonation of the nineteenth-century painter, Jules Joseph Lefebvre's works'. Sheherezade in the pearly dress. Brilliant. Instead of words take a look at the whole collection, or watch the video. Believe me, it's worth.
Seherezádé a gyöngyökkel kirakott ruhában.

Cutting, grouping, gluing

Many years ago when I didn't really care for fashion deeply, this used to be one of my favourite photographs. Up to this day I like it, and is on my wall. Those days I didn't know that much brands' or photographers' name, but it made no difference. I passionately collected the hungarian women magazines and plucked out all the pages about fashion. I separated the perfume- and fashion commercials, the editorials and the stylist-tips. In distinct blotters, sorted, systematized. My parents used to catch me cutting the magazines and obsessively grouping, gluing the cutout pictures. They said I'm a fool, and will outgrow. I'm afraid, they've been right. How happy I'd be if I had the time and energy to spin the scissors, to glue, or just to do something without any purpose, merely for my selfish joy.

The power of vintage

Not long ago I entered into an interesting debate. An online fight, the battlefield was the site of a well-known  hungarian fashion blog. A photo, apropos of the international tags of Prada clothes triggered off a comment-warefare because a "nice" girl said that to her clothes are clothes only above thousand dollars, and that she would never ever enter into a second-hand shop because it's boo and pleb, and anyway. I won't go into details. Just like this, with big gulpings and perplexity blinkings I sit before the monitor and I thought, WHO THE F*CK YOU THINK YOU ARE?
A részletekbe talán most nem megyek bele.
Photobucket
My opinion is that style has nothing to do with the price. You can find real designer pieces in secret cellars or little second-hand shops, too. If someone is willing to wear only the thousand-dollar ones, then that's not about the loving of clothes, the style or the Prada.
Photobucket
Those mall-boutiques working with threehundred percent profit will dumb the same chinese-making clothes on you, what you really try to avoid, dear Ms Snob. Put your hands in the air if you have never been in a second-hand shop! Well, well, ladies and gentlemen. And why do we go into second-hand shops? For the unique and qualitative pieces. Yes. That we can touch and take a smell at a part of the history. Because when I take vintage clothes in hand it comes to mind who's weardrobe stood this in for long years, who's skin lied this on for long hours, I wonder who get everlasting memories by it, and who was that bored it, throwed it off, and why. Every clothes has its own story. We buy them, we use them, we pass them, we put out them. But sometimes it's more. Sometimes they carry lifes. A real, organic circuit, the spirit of the clothes floats guvnor by guvnor. Vintage is our generation's soothing pill. We breath it through our pores, so past lives with us, we wear it on ourself.
A háromszáz százalékos haszonnal dolgozó plázabutikok ugyanazt a kínai gyártmányú ruhát fogják rádsózni, amit éppen annyira próbálsz elkerülni, kedves Miszisz Sznob. Minden ruhának megvan a története. Vesszük, elhasználjuk, továbbadjuk, kidobjuk. De néha több. Néha életeket hordoznak magukban. Egy igazi, organikus körforgás, a ruha szelleme tulajról tulajra tovább száll. A vintage a mi generációnk nyugtatótablettája. Pórusainkon belélegezzük, így a múlt velünk él, magunkon hordozzuk.

Dark, Grauzone

I am in a dark period. In all meaning. And also I am too happy to write about darkness, so I do darkness and do not think about it. Like I am too much in love to write about it. I rather deal with the inexhaustible variations of pain. It's always easier to imagine something than living through. Dark 80s, oh yes, honey. Kiss me with your cold lips and empty tounge. Dancing with berliners. It seems to be the most exciting reason for my Deutsch learning.
Inkább foglalkozom a szenvedés kimeríthetetlen variációival. Mindig könnyebb valamit elképzelni, mint átélni. Dark 80s, ó igen, drágám. Csókolj a rideg ajkaiddal és kietlen nyelvcsapásaiddal. Berliniekkel táncolni. Úgy tűnik, ez a legizgalmasabb érv a német tanulásomra.

Not another tumblr

Yes, I know lately it seemed Oui, Mademoiselle transformed into a tumblr-like page. But, no. Certainly not. This lot picture without text means I am in a crisis, as I've said it two posts before (actually today). So don't be afraid. I'm going to write more and more ... and more and more and sometimes even more. Sooner as you think. Tomorrow? Thank you for your patience and for the understanding hearing of  my suffering. Love.
Holnap? Köszönet a türelmetekért és a szenvedésem megértő meghallgatásáért. Láv.

A crisis or something

Well, I'm not dead. I'm in a crisis or something, a writer's block. Or it can be a midlife crisis even if I am only in my twenties and I am not a man. I've started a school yesterday and it makes me so f*cking tired and brainwashed. I'm trying to write more about fashion in the next days and apply for being a part of a new  american "sassy" magazine. Wish me luck and enjoy this vibrating fall.
Hát, nem vagyok még halott. Valamiféle krízisben vagyok éppen, írói válságnak is nevezhetjük.

Sheer PLEASURE

Can you remember those shoes which you stepped on and their foot were flashing? This question is particularly for those peers of mine were educated in the late nineties. I didn't but only one girl had this shoes in our class and we were enthused over hers. In every break we went to the girl's closet, turned off the lights, and were staring as she was walking about. In tresses we were hanging on the vivid flashing and slobber.
Fürtökben, csorgó nyállal lógtunk a színes villogáson.
Photobucket
This sheer PLEASURE reminded me to this (maybe the first) style-remembrance and that I'm going to... die! Yes, seriously. I can't imagine my life without this. The coolness of cool you see, the omega of alpha. And then I recured to the spring 2011 Z Spoke by Zac Posen sunglasses, which I have written about and which I've been already stoned of. Let's imagine these together. We are treading heaven right now, the brilliant combination of childlike pleasure and sassy charm. How wonderful. How magical.

Feeling like a stomped worm

Today I travelled about 7 hours - home to school and back - to pass in my thesis. Can't believe, and I was the first who did, that seems like a miracle. So I feel myself deadbeat. Anyway my feet are full of vesicles, I can't stand on them. Have a nice evening to everyone, I'm going to blitz the couch like an old buffer and dulling my brain cells before the television.

Boys

No more blame I don't care about men's fashion. I do. A bit. Especially if they wear Junya Watanabe, Martens or Ralph Lauren. Monk hair cut? Come on, I have some safety pins sticking-in your ears, you'd love it. Today I saw the new issue of Arena Homme + at the newsagent, I wanted to buy. That's too bad stringency makes you to give up men's fashion. In a way.

TribaSpace Interview

TribaSpace loves Oui, Mademoiselle, so they made an interview with me about my style and my non-existent blogging philosophy, about my hopes and reasons of blogging. Also, I've been corresponded to Charles Bukowski ("same sense of darkness, honesty and intrigue"), what a glory! I love the text what Megan Cahn was written, so thank you so much dear, and big love to TribaSpace. Thank you guys. Read the interview HERE.

Changin'

So you call me unreliable? You don't trust me anymore? You feel like I've stiffed you? Oh yes. I know. I let you hate me now. I promised posts but there wasn't, but - hail HAIL! - I said nothing about changes, and voilá, here's a HUGE change on the blog's design and there'll be even in the posts. I tell you why. I do like tumbrls (actually I had once but I hated its post editor so I deleted) and I like the minimalism in their designs. So I redesigned the blog. It's cool, ain't it?
And this blog never will be about stuffs like the Jennifer Lopez/Gucci, the Lanvin/H&M or the Madonna/Dolce&Gabbana collaborations. No. Actually I am bored of reading the same fashion moments on most of the blogs.
The other change: only english text. No more hungarian words. It was a hard decision and if there's too much complaint maybe I rethink it. But hey HUNS, let's give it a try. Nobody will hurt, right? Because you know how precious you are to my heart.
New posts are on their way.
