Where to begin. Michael Angel is quite the chees. He's doing his work pretty well. To shock and to be amazingly horrified. And he has the front to ask "How can I do what I do with prints and be a minimalist?" Make the prints fantastic, and simplify the rest. The little brash. I love it. By the way the patterns are so simple that I guess they cut the materials into rectangles and pinning together them. God, how wonderful it would be. (Okay, if someone who has a smattering of sewing or designing and blazing up now, excuse me. I'm just fantasizing.) Here's the 90's again. Hurray!

Hol is kezdjem. Michael Angel nem piskóta. Nem azért, mert meg vagyok róla győződve, hogy nem tészta állagú és nem sütőben sült, hanem mert bazira (bocsánat a szóhasználatért, még a blogspot-javító is pirossal aláhúzza) tudja mi a dolga. Megbotránkoztatni és csodálatos szörnyülködésre bírni a népet. És akkor még van képe azt kérdezni, hogy "Hogyan csinálom ezt a mintákkal és vagyok egyszerre minimalista?" A minták legyenek fantasztikusak, a többi meg egyszerű. A kis pimasz. Bírom. Egyébként valóban, a szabásminta olyan egyszerű, hogy szerintem csak nagy téglalapokban kivágták az anyagokat és összetűzdelték. Istenem, de csodás is lenne. (Oké, ha itt most valaki, aki ért a varráshoz, vagy a ruhatervezéshez, és felhördült, attól ezúton is elnézést kérek. Csak álmodozom.) Újra jön a 90-es évek. Juhú!

Susan Travers inspirated the
Ruffian's designers in their spring
collection. If you don't know who she is, google her (I didn't know either). Everything will be clear. I like military uniform, that's what I only say. Masculine and feminine.
Először semmi komolyra nem gondoltam. Aztán megtudtam, hogy a Ruffian tervezőit Susan Travers inspirálta tavaszi kollekciójuk elkészítésekor. Ha nem tudod ki ő, azonnal guglizd le (én se tudtam). Minden világos lesz. Szeretem a katonai egyenruhákat, én csak ennyit mondok. Maszkulin és feminin.

Am I the ONLY ONE to whom come to mind about
Jen Kao's collection the
Xena series?? If you're that old as I am (no, I never will tell how old
actually I am) you can remember the series in the second half of the 1990s: the adventurous stories of
Xena, the Warrior princess and her fellow, Gabrielle. I won't lie, I
truly loved it. (I collected gum decals about Xena, and when one of my boy classmates had a picture I didn't got, and he did not want to give it to me, I was blubing and stamping. Finally I acquired it. That's how I loved Xena. And now as I'm thinking I guess there'll be a post about her.) Get back, huh, I'm a bit touched by the floating memories of past, but for me this
collection is
Xena and Gabrielle (and a joining woody elfin, whatever), even if according to the "official" background story this is about girls wandering the desert in an altered state where they find the man of their dreams. Admit, this version is much more boring.

Ha olyan idősek vagytok, mint én (nem, soha nem fogom elárulni hány éves vagyok valójában) emlékezhettek az 1990-es évek második felében futó sorozatra: Xena, a harcos hercegnő és társa, Gabrielle kalandos sztorijaira. Nem hazudok, én totálisan imádtam. (Gyűjtöttem a Xenás rágós matricákat is, és amikor az egyik fiú osztálytársam rágójába olyan volt, ami nekem még nem volt meg, és nem akarta odaadni, bőgtem és toporzékoltam. Végül megszereztem. Hát ennyire szerettem én a Xenát. Most ahogy így eszembe jutott, azt hiszem erről lesz majd egy post.) Visszatérve, huh, kicsit még meg vagyok hatódva a múlt szállingózó emlékeitől, de nekem ez a kollekció Xena és Gabrielle (meg hozzájuk csapódott egy erdei manó, mondjuk), még akkor is, ha valójában a "hivatalos" háttérsztori sivatagban kóborló lányokról szól, akik álmaik férfiait keresik, vagy valami ilyesmi. Valljuk be, ez a verzió sokkal unalmasabb.

Rachel Comey doesn't convince me for the spring of 2011.
This year and
last year, and
before, I was mad for her Lolita outfits, playful prints and sassy cuts. And now, it's like... hm, I don't know. Not bad, but not smashing. Altough I shall continue to like her prints and lines, and I think he followed the "simple but swell" direction in this case. Actually she succeed. She has grown up a bit. And I note she's an extremely symphatic, childbearing designer lady. I can't wait she got her
own post next time.

Mi a baj, Rachel? Rachel Comey 2011 tavaszára nem győzött meg. Idén meg tavaly, meg előtte, egyszerűen odavoltam a kis Lolitás szettjeiért, játékos mintáiért, szemtelen szabásaiért. Most meg olyan... hm, nem is tudom. Nem rossz, csak nem átütő. Bár a mintáit továbbra is nagyon szeretem, és a vonalait, idén azt hiszem, az "egyszerű, de nagyszerű" irányba igyekezett lépni. Végül is sikerült neki. Kicsit felnőtt. És meg kell jegyeznem, hogy egy rendkívül szimpatikus, áldott állapotban lévő tervező hölgyről van szó. Alig várom, hogy következő alkalommal saját post-ot kapjon. Nézd meg.

Lyn Devon. Peachy, bohemian, zany. Classic. There's a fashion photo, back in the days, where a golfer woman is photographed, but sure I won't find it, I saw it in a book once, and this collection is ditto like that. I guess I've circumscribed superbly. Never mind. The point is, even though there are a lot of clothes here we have seen umpteen times, somehow it zings me up. Maybe because of the presentation? Because of the model? I hope not (only).
Lyn Devon. Üdeség, bohémság, bolondság. Klasszikus. Van egy divatfotó, nagyon régről, ahol egy golfozó nő van lefotózva, de biztos, hogy nem fogom megtalálni, egy könyvben láttam egyszer, na ez a kollekció dettó olyan. Ezzel gondolom most remekül körülírtam. Mindegy. A lényeg, hogy annak ellenére, hogy csupa olyan darab tűnik fel, amit már vagy kismilliószor láttunk, valahogy nagyon feldob. Lehet, hogy csak a beállítások miatt? A modell miatt? Remélem nem (csak).

Maya Singer wrote the United Bamboo spring 2011 collection's strength was its simplicity. These times I always think that simple (in the fashion business, if we're here) is used as a some kinda nicer synonym of boring? The decision is yours, the only one thing I say, I have seen stuffs like these. In the front row Kim Gordon, Harmony Korine, and Karen O were seated, so after all United Bamboo is cool anyway.

Ilyenkor mindig elgondolkodom, hogy azt, hogy egyszerű (mondjuk a divatbizniszben, ha már itt tartunk) az unalmas egyfajta kedvesített szinonimájaként használják-e. Egy újabb fekete-fehér-szürke kollekció. Frank Tell. Fogunk még sok ilyet látni jövő tavaszig. A masszív platformok, szakadt pulcsik, fekete leplek, fekete bőr és fehér ruhák éve lesz ez. Nyers és kifinomult. Muszáj megnézned, vonulnak az űrlények.

The muse of Vivienne Tam took a trip down the Silk Road, from China across India to Persia. If this is folklore or the textile diary of an oriental traveller, I don't know, but because its looseness, its provincialism transfered into city life and the union of mixed materials, I like it.
A Selyemúton járt Vivienne Tam múzsája, Kínából, Indián keresztül, Perzsiáig. Hogy folklór ez, vagy egy keleti utazó szövetnaplója, nem tudom, de lazasága, a városi életbe átemelt vidékisége és a keveredő anyagok összhangja miatt, tetszik.
