Back to the future!

A few months ago I had to make a trial-stylist work for a hungarian teen magazine. This was the "aptitude test". I've shown you the other named Lolita previously, and this is the second one. The conception what I have found out was how typical 80s clothes appear nowdays. It was rather a good fun than a serious work. Henceforward I don't think I care too much with celeb's style, of course never say never.

The style of the 80s riots again! Sit to the time machine and thumbing the fashionwhiz of the magazine what guides you into the home of retro!
A 80-as évek stílusa újra lázad! Ülj be az időgépbe, és forgasd a magazin divatkisokosát, ami elkalauzol a retro otthonába!

1 SPLATTERED MATERIALS | FRÖCSKÖLT ANYAGOK
Like a dungarees...? No! The cavalcade of splattered colours zings up a party night or an ordinary weekday, too. But don't overdo to wear them, wear one splattered piece and couple it with unicolour clothes!

(Demi Moore)

2 PADDED SHOULDER | KITÖMÖTT VÁLL
The huge shoulder pads are not moldy anymore. If you want to be really trendy, do not miss out the fatty shoulders!

(Anne Hathaway)

3 JUMPSUITS | JUMPSUITS
You don't have to go to sky diving to garish in union suit. You can wear it to everywhere, in the daytime and in the evening it's super fashionable and comfortable turnout.
Nem kell ejtőernyőzni menned, hogy kezes-lábasban viríthass. Most hordhatod bárhova, napközben és este is kényelmes és szuper divatos ruhadarab.

(Katy Perry)

4 STONEWASHED JEANS | KŐMOSOTT FARMER
Jeans are eternal, it's undeniable. This year 80s stonewashed tight legged jeans are in fashion. The saying is true on jeans: the less is more. At the same time wear only one kinda jeans!
A farmer örök, ez tagadhatalan. Idén a 80-as évek kőmosott szűkszárú fazonjai hódítanak. A farmerre is igaz a mondás: a kevesebb több. Egyszerre csak egyféle farmer legyen rajtad!

(Peaches Geldof)

5 BLACK CLOTHES & RELIGIOUS ACCESSORIES | FEKETE RUHÁK & VALLÁSOS ÉKSZEREK
Yet, the black clothes and huge crosses are not only the properties of rocker and goth wardrobes. It's the time to get in a collection like this.

(Rihanna)

6 RUFFLES | FODROK
At least without flashing you can live through your sissy-age again. Buy a ruffled skirt which won't twirl but you're going to be sexy and chic, no doubt.

(Diane Kruger)
(The credits for the clothes are missing, I know, because I could not search them back and formerly I didn't note them. Sorry for this.)

"Is Jesus the new fashion statement?"

It would be too unambiguous to start a question like do you believe in God or Jesus. And it's not my business. Why it penetrated into fashion so spectacularly is not a new question. Maybe because of boredom, as a last resort to help on creative crisis, to raise dust with intent or because Jesus was also destined for being incorporated by the threshing-machine of fashion and being ground by it. So yes, even if it sounds bad.

Of course it’s not surprising, since thousand years to make frescos, paintings, prints about Jesus was in quantity production as saluting, or as the tool of intimidation, or as the soaring of artistic self-realization, or as an order. So why is it different to wear a t-shirt with Virgin Mary to sloppily put-on jeans? Do we commit a sin with this, or do an ethical mistake and why a lot of people shocked by it? Or maybe these are wrong questions.

I'm not talking about art itself, just only fashion. That's not a big stunt if Jesus appears in a movie, but why we wear Him? I don't think it has any kind of meaning, and the simpliest answer to the question is: because it is trendy. As a colour or a print Jesus penetrated into the streets from couture and became a public treasure.

Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring 2007 couture collection points at the point of the theme. Women saints screw into beautiful fabrics - lightcrowns, lacevails, colorful templeglasses, vestry "little bags". The weight of the contour of female suffering and beyond beauty is deeply embed to the perishable flesh of style. William-Adolphe Bouguereau The Madonna of the Roses (1903) picture has been vivified. Here's the explanation to everything. Idolatry and the pursuit of cult. Because we need something, always.
Jean Paul Gaultier 2007-es tavaszi couture kollekciója rámutat a téma lényegére. Női szentek gyönyörű kelmékbe csavarva - fénykoronák, csipkefátylak, színes templomüvegek, sekrestye "kistáskák". A női szenvedés és túlvilági szépség kontúrjának súlya mélyen a stílus romlandó húsába beágyazva. William-Adolphe Bouguereau Madonna rózsákkal (1903) című képe életrekelt. Ezzel megvan a magyarázat is mindenre. Bálványimádat és kultuszkeresés. Mert valami mindig kell.

Nóra Sármán’s 2010 MOME degree work is not categorical showing the Jesus theme, insomuch not, that her collection is the first wing-beat of a new interpretation of Wedding dresses. (At last.) The combination of a modest and harmless portrait of a holy child plus the nakedness and the chapel of a landward little church effects a surreal mix and I rather think of a guise-dressed black widow than a happy wife. But this is a composition what I welcome and proud of and yes, we hungarians are also able to do something great. Keep is up, Nóra!
Így tovább Nóra (and Mark)!

While in the Bible belt in America some believers build a Mary-altar into their garden, others equip the sanctum on their own body, in the form of clothes or tattoos. Lights, prayers and faith in the hearts - colours, brands and motifs on the hearts.
Míg mondjuk az amerikai vallásos övben (Bible belt) élő hívő emberek Mária-oltárt állítanak a kertjükbe, mások a szentélyt saját testükön rendezik be, mindegy hogy ruha vagy mondjuk tetoválás formájában. Fények, ima, és hit a szívben - színek, márka és minta a szíven.

Rebel8 is an american streetwear brand and in its profile there's an articular part for religious tattoos, photographs and clothes. Who's the spending power for this? Skateboarders, graffiti artists, living artists, hobos. Religion has something to do with it? I guess not much. (Or maybe I am wrong.)
A Rebel8 amerikai streetwear márka profiljának hangsúlyos része a vallásos tetoválások, fotók, ruhadarabok készítése. Ki a vásárlóerő erre a piacra? Deszkások, graffitisek, életművészek, csavargók. Van-e ennek köze a valláshoz? Gondolom nem sok. (Persze lehet, hogy tévedek.)

On the whole I haven't intended to enmesh into religious questions, just to focus on fashion. I've read a writing and Lionel Mosby Jr.'s article "Is Jesus the new fashion statement?" reveals to as Jesus and religious properties penetrated into fashion they became common and deprived them of their majestic features and they "degraded" on the volatile status of a fugitive trend. "Pop culture is fascinated with Jesus Christ", said da T.R.U.T.H., Christian rap artist, "everything is oriented with Christ except their lifestyles." Read Mosby Jr.'s article and think religion and fashion are in hand in hand or they are sworn enemies...?

Nebula-believers

Probably you have seen Christopher Kane's Resort 2011 collection, if not, here it is. These clothes refer to an earlier post of mine, when I was looking for the answer to the popularity of galaxy and nebula prints. This collection is the perfect example to my words, so I owe with deep thanks to Mr. Kane. The baby-dolls are perfect for Nebula-belivers; and the tufted sandals remind me to the "white telephone films" and they bring relief to the upper-class romance and prostitutes. Read my previous article and find out what suits for a spacewalk.

Néhány pillanatkép a The Filth and the Fury című dvd-ből. Dear Sasha, you get under my skin

Have you ever thought about what inspiration means? In the last days I was thinking about it (ok, I'm lazier but I really thought about it) and I realized I can't define the word in its all contexts. I mean, obviously I understand that something can inspire me to create something different, something new what was born in my mind because this inspirational stuff. But in a life of a person who does not create palpable/visible/sensible new matters what kind of role has the "inspiration"? What is that person inspirated for? Or we just like this expression because everybody understands its meaning: something we are somehow enthralled by. If you say xy inspirated me you don't have to explaining to much it's clear and short. But why we wrap it up like this? I'd like so much if everyone tell me what thinks and feels when he/she sees something what really enthrals him/her. Or is that too hard to formulate?

Sasha Pivovarova (first photo) on the 2008 Spring Valentino couture show wasn't wearing just a make-up. This is SEX itself, a get-out goddess from the Dallas, a concupiscence venus, a singing Siren. If I use the word perfection, it means nothing here because in this case it's just an overused boring cliche. Dear Sasha, you get under my skin - marry me.
Oho and what is this flower vase? Noritaka Tatehana doesn't joke. He creates multipurpose shoes so Lady Gaga can parades in them and they look good in a simple housewife's kitchen, too.

"I sometimes change my outfit 3 times a day.
I love clothes and I change the outfits according to the shows.
From time to time, I will wear an outfit which exactly matches what was just shown on the catwalk.
For example, if I see a look in the show with feathers, I'll change my outfit to something with feathers.
Also, I will wear an outfit of a designer friend, too.
Well, for me dressing up has become a part of my job!"
Időről időre olyan ruhát hordok, ami pontosan passzol ahhoz, amit a kifutón láttam.
Persze a tervező barátaim ruháit is szívesen hordom.
Szóval, számomra az öltözködés a munkám részévé vált!"

I got a strange dream, second time, now I can't explain it. Maybe I horrendously want high heels like these? In the dream my cousins live in Australia and we are visiting them. They got a huge house, but they don't really care about us so we go into the city and land in a cloth shop. And I'm desperately looking for shoes like these (I don't even need the I❤NY caption just want the shooooes) but I can't find good ones just lames. Cut, in the next scene we sit on the plane which in a very stange way boards in the city center, between the houses. A, please somebody send me these high heels and I gona promote them till I succumb. I promise!

So, am I the only one who see similarity between the next two picture? The regular young turk and Dorothy's shoes makes me to say damnit, what a drollery, both of them. I mean to hunt for crocodiles and to own these shoes (porcelainpiece?). The shoes are by a hungarian designer-duo Orsolya Poppre and Larisza Pasztircsák, hereafter pet them in the name of Mrs Herskin. Psychedelic madness is this, with the ghost of Talent and Originality what levitates above them, and seems to find the baasbody. On the right of the last word, listen to Comic Strip by Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg, garb yourself, turn loud the tape and dance. Breathless. (Did I mention I am rabid mad for these Mrs Herskin shoes?)
